Gilgamesh Tablets VI, VII

At the beginning of the tablet, Gilgamesh comes back from the journey and starts to wash himself. The goddess Ishtar saw Gilgamesh and fell completely in love with him. "By my lover, be my husband." Pg 29. Even thiugh she was a goddess she fell in love with him. "I have hithing to give to her that lacks nothing at all." Pg 30. Gilgamesh's response to the goddess is that he has nothing to give to her so they couldn't be lovers. Of course, Ishtar was furious with that response. She used the same argument to complain to her parents: "He has found out and told aboout your foolness." Pg 32. Due to what Gilgamesh had told her, she asked her father for the Bull of Heaven so se could punish Gilgamesh for doing that. When the bull came, Enkidu and Gilgamesh fought the bull together. "Two people, companions, they can prevail together." Pg 34. This is what they saw when they are fighting to believe they can do it. They finally killed the bull between the two of them.

On the next tablet, the gods get together and decide that Enkidu must die. This was because they had killed the Bull of Heaven and Huwawa so one of the two had to die. The gods Enlil and Shamash argumented nd decided Enkidu had to die. Enkidu started feeling worse and by the end of the tablet he dies. This of course is a main part since Enkidu was Gilgamesh's companion and the one who evened him out. He acted like his siekick who helped him make the correct choices. I related them to Batman and Robin of course Batman being Gilgamesha and Robin being Enkidu. Batman always outshined Robin but Robin was important for Batman. This was the same as Enkidu for Gilgamesh, they actually got very close to each other.
