Another of the mayor themes we find in Greek mythology is love. As far as I have read, there are two types of myths that get repeated many times. First are the myths were they talk about a hero, and what the hero did throughout his life. The second myth that I find many times is the one that talks about love, and about how the people and even the gods did many things for love. Many times the love was caused by Cupid and his arrows. They also show how even the gods fell in love with mortals and vice versa. These myths always talk about how the mortals and gods do many things in order to be together.
In the myth of Cupid and Psyche, they show how they fall in live, which is very similar to the one on Venus and Adonis. “VENUS, playing one day with her boy Cupid, wounded her bosom with one of his arrows. She pushed him away, but the wound was deeper than she thought. Before it healed she beheld Adonis, and was captivated with him.” The Cupid arrow, which we still talk about a lot modernly, it’s a story everyone knows since they are little. And this myth talks in how Venus the goddess falls in love and doesn’t even go to heaven for being with Adonis. The same as the in conditional love that Cupid has for Psyche, his mother Venus has for Adonis, and it’s something we still relate to modernly since it happens to us a lot.
