Gods Secretaries

As you read the first chapter of Gods Secretaries, you learn about James' life and everything he was capable of doing. As I read through this chapter, I noticed some things that I could relate to other readings which we have read previously in this class. Mainly to Greek mythology. In some way I felt the writer looked at James with admire, and he wants to show how great hi is in his writing. "capable in sight of of turning any passage from the Bible from Latin to Fench and then from Frengh to English." Pg 7. Of course, the author exageretes a little on James' abilities. It is completely different from Greek mythology in which every thing was very exagerated with gods and monsters but it still says a lot of things. Also we can find part of a typical english story, Robin Hood. "James appeared one day as Robin Hood" Pg 15

Another writing that Gods Secretaries remainded me of was Gilgamesh. It is not so easy but in some way you can find the same companion relationship either with Elizabeth or with Robert Carey.
